Recycling
DRAW is committed to doing what it takes to streamline the Recycling process for multifamily communities. We are dedicated to helping reduce the cost of your waste spending and increase recycling participation wherever possible. Through tenant education the goal of making recycling more cost-effective and sustainable will be achieved.
DRAW services will provide an exceptional amenity to your tenants and help your company go green overnight. It is key that we reduce waste through recycling. The reasons are compelling. Here are some great rewards on how a few little things can go a very long way in the world of conservation:
•Commingled and paper/cardboard pick-up
•100% recycling and hauling laws compliant
•100% insured
•Eliminate contamination
•Increase volume collected
•Offsite recycling hauling
•Resident recycling education included
•Distribution of pertinent information (Door hangers, mailings, and kickoff material)
•Resources to other recycling information available through DRAW services
Keys To Successful Recycling Program
•Management support: The support of the complex’s management and maintenance staff is critical, complete community buy-in is paramount to success
•Tenant education: Draw services provide the management and tenant training, training materials that include door hangers, recycling posters, letters and postcards. Tenant participation is critical in increasing the amount of recycling material collected from multifamily properties.
•Constant reinforcement is needed for the recycling program, through newsletters, bulletins, and door hanger promotions. We provide an initial and ongoing educational program on the recycling.
•Waste Audit: Conduct a waste audit to gather basic information about the waste stream --- its composition, volume and disposal costs. The audit can yield valuable data that will assist in the development of an effective waste reduction and recycling program.
•Physical space for recycling containers: Residents are more likely to participate if they can recycle from their doorstep. Residents simply place the recycling container outside their doorstep and DRAW will take commingled recyclables to your on-property recycling station for sorting! Thankfully, the days of outdoor sorting at compactors are over! DRAW has established networks with local recycling companies (12th and Haskell Recycling) as well as Deffenbaugh to make sure there are sufficient resources to handle your recyclables.
Other Recycling Resources
Federal and local-level legislation is increasing on defining the "producer responsibility" requirements for recycling and the disposal of items such as universal waste (ex: batteries, fluorescent bulbs, paints, etc.) and e-waste (ex: computers). With this comes an increasingly complicated challenge for businesses both from an expense and liability standpoint. Requirements are very much market specific in many cases, and DRAW can help you evaluate your options and implement "business practical" recycling solutions. Our Waste Specialist will not take hazardous waste items. For additional recycling resources for things
